Ritu Neb - Founder & Artistic Director

Ritu is a visionary leader with a passion for dance, spirituality, and women’s empowerment. She brings a unique blend of positivity, grace, and enthusiasm to every project and professional relationship she engages in.

Despite facing significant challenges in her personal journey, Ritu’s resilience shines through as she has consistently risen above adversity. In 2007, she embarked on her entrepreneurial journey by founding Elegant Media, a web design company, from the ground up. Over time, she discovered her true calling in dance, leading her to establish Pure Soul Energy Dance Academy in 2015, where she serves as Founder and Director. With over nine years of experience in teaching dance, Ritu has earned widespread acclaim for her unwavering dedication and expressive teaching style.

As a professional expressive dance instructor, Ritu specializes in both Bollywood dance and Bollyfit classes, believing that dancers convey their artistry through movement.

Bank of Montreal:
In addition to her passion for dance, Ritu brings extensive experience from her 12-year tenure as a Web Content Manager at the Bank of Montreal.

Elegant Media:
Ritu serves as the owner and President of Elegant Media Company, a prominent Graphics and Web Design firm. With a commitment to excellence, Elegant Media specializes in developing high-quality Print and Internet-based solutions. Their dedicated team prioritizes customer satisfaction, delivering elegant designs and innovative ideas tailored to meet clients’ Print Graphic Design and Web Design needs.

Events:

Since 2017, Ritu has served as the Stage Manager for the India Pavilion at Carassauga, one of Ontario’s largest multicultural festivals. In this role, she meticulously plans, organizes, and schedules all stage activities, coordinating the participation of approximately 400 performers from across the Greater Toronto Area over the course of the two-day festival.

Volunteer:

Ritu has dedicated her time to volunteering at the Hindu Heritage Centre Temple and with the Peel Multicultural Society, an Ontario Government-funded organization focused on supporting new immigrants. Her volunteer work includes teaching English Conversation Classes to newly arrived immigrants, contributing to their integration and adaptation within the community.

Co-Author:

Ritu is a co-author of the book titled “The Power Within – Canadian Small Business Women”, which aims to inspire and reshape the narrative of immigrant women globally.

Actor:

She has not only recognized her innate talents but also embraced them fully. Recently, she delved into her acting abilities and appeared in two films: “Sree: Dancing Through the Seasons” and “A Bloody Mess”. “Sree”, directed and produced by Mallika Sothinathan of New Horizon Arts Media, is a feature-length documentary highlighting female empowerment through dance within the immigrant community in North America. The film was showcased at the Ontario International Film Festival (ONIFF). “A Bloody Mess”, directed by Asis Sethi and produced by Flying Away Films Inc., aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by many South Asian girls and to destigmatize discussions surrounding menstruation.

Toastmaster:

Ritu has been an active member of Toastmasters International since 2006, culminating in her attainment of the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award in 2020. Toastmasters International is a globally recognized nonprofit educational organization dedicated to enhancing public speaking and leadership skills through its extensive network of clubs. With a rich history dating back to 1924, Toastmasters International has empowered individuals from various backgrounds to develop confidence in public speaking, effective communication, and leadership abilities.

Ritu engages in meditation, cultivates positivity, and actively volunteers for various charitable organizations dedicated to aiding those in need. When she’s not immersed in dance, she finds joy in painting and creating free-flowing modern art pieces.
